Most of Made in Japan products are sourced from small, family-run kilns in Gifu on the central island of Honshu, with the rest of our collections sourced from all over Japan. Our products make their way from Japan to our lovely warehouse in Yorkshire, where we keep them safe until it’s time for them to head to their new homes.
Sun And Shiro And the Polka-Dot Snake
Sun And Shiro And the Polka-Dot Snake
Sun and his white-tailed dog Shiro love spending their days outdoors, exploring nature together. Every year, they look forward to early fall, when they go on leaf hunts together in the woods, collecting them in all sorts of colors, and when the apples in the orchard near their house are ripe.
While on their latest adventure, they meet a curious little creature called Polka-Dot Snake—a slithering friend who happens to love apples even more than they do.
Sun and Shiro and the Polka-Dot Snake is not only about apples. It is a charming tale of friendship that consequently educates young readers about healthy eating without pointing a moral finger.

What’s in the box?
Our products are made with love and care in Japan, but it’s with you where their story lives on. And for that to happen, we need to make sure they arrive with you in one piece! We carefully wrap each item in bubble wrap and traditional Japanese newspapers (you’ll often find a Japanese crossword or sudoku to solve!). You’ll also receive a short guide on how to care for and cherish your new tableware. Sustainability is important to us and we’re working hard on ways to keep items safe while being kind to the planet, too.
