Designed for comfortable everyday use, this ceramic rice bowl features a gently curved shape that fits naturally in the hand while bringing a quiet sense of Japanese craftsmanship to the table.

The exterior is finished in a deep indigo glaze, while the interior features details inspired by The Great Wave off Kanagawa by Hokusai (1831) - one of the most iconic images in Japanese art, celebrated for its timeless beauty and dynamic composition.

Ideal for serving rice, side dishes, soups, desserts, or small donburi dishes, the bowl offers a balanced and versatile form suited to daily dining.

Care Instructions

Our tableware has been made with love, and sometimes needs a little extra care. While the majority of our products are microwave and dishwasher safe, sudden changes in temperature are likely to cause thermal shock, which will damage your item, and we don’t want that.

Check out our care guide here, so you can keep your tableware looking perfect for as long as possible.

General Information

Most of Made in Japan products are sourced from small, family-run kilns in Gifu on the central island of Honshu, with the rest of our collections sourced from all over Japan. Our products make their way from Japan to our lovely warehouse in Yorkshire, where we keep them safe until it’s time for them to head to their new homes.
