Care & Usage Instructions
Important Safety Information
These scissors are precision cutting tools designed for pruning plants and fresh wood. Please use with care and follow the guidelines below:
- Do not cut wire, metal, plastic, or other hard materials, as this may damage the blade.
- Do not attempt to cut with only part of the blade engaged.
- Do not twist or pry sideways while cutting.
- For best results, use the scissors only for their intended purpose.
- New scissors may require a short break-in period before reaching optimum performance.
- Cutting at a slight angle, rather than straight on, can improve cutting efficiency and help prolong blade life.
- Keep the blade away from your face, hands, and other people during use.
- Do not carry the scissors loose in a pocket.
- Store safely out of reach of children when not in use.
Care & Maintenance
- After use, wipe away moisture, sap, and plant residue from the blades.
- Apply a light coat of oil before storage to help protect the carbon steel and prevent rust.
- Store in a clean, dry place away from humidity and dust.
- To maintain smooth operation, apply 1-2 drops of oil to the pivot and spring periodically.
- If the action becomes stiff, inspect the pivot area and clean away any dirt or debris.
Sharpening
- Sharpen the cutting edge using a suitable whetstone, maintaining a consistent angle along the entire blade.
- Once a fine burr has formed, lightly remove it by passing the reverse side of the blade over the stone.
- Regular sharpening will help maintain optimum cutting performance and prolong the life of the tool.
