The Yokan Desk Clock, designed by Yuichi Nara, takes its name from yōkan (ヨーカン), the traditional Japanese confection known for its simple rectangular shape. Echoing this form, the clock appears like a solid block gently carved from wood, bringing a calm and sculptural presence to a desk, shelf, or bedside table.

The frame is carefully crafted from natural wood and finished with a plant-based oil coating, allowing the warmth and grain of the material to be fully appreciated. Its clean, minimal dial reflects the quiet clarity of Japanese design, creating a timepiece that feels both practical and visually refined within the home.

Alongside telling the time, the clock also includes a built-in thermometer and hygrometer, helping you maintain a comfortable living environment throughout the seasons.

What’s in the box?

Our products are made with love and care in Japan, but it’s with you where their story lives on. And for that to happen, we need to make sure they arrive with you in one piece! We carefully wrap each item in bubble wrap and traditional Japanese newspapers (you’ll often find a Japanese crossword or sudoku to solve!). You’ll also receive a short guide on how to care for and cherish your new tableware. Sustainability is important to us and we’re working hard on ways to keep items safe while being kind to the planet, too.
