Developed by Motoshige Pottery, specialists in traditional suribachi mortars and ceramic graters, this Iwami ware ceramic grater delivers exceptional performance with remarkably light effort.

Sharp ceramic fragments are embedded directly into the surface, creating durable grating teeth that allow ginger, garlic, daikon and even firmer ingredients to be grated smoothly and efficiently. Food fibres are less likely to catch, making rinsing quick and easy after use.

A silicone rubber base provides excellent stability - secure enough to grate one-handed - while protecting your table from scratches.

  • Size: Approx. Diameter 10cm x Height 2cm
  • Material: Ceramic (body), Silicon rubber (non-slip base)
  • Microwave safe: Yes
  • Dishwasher safe: No

The clean white clay finish gives this Japanese ceramic ginger grater a simple, table-ready aesthetic, ideal for preparing dressings, sauces and condiments directly at mealtime.

What makes our products so special

What’s in the box?

Our products are made with love and care in Japan, but it’s with you where their story lives on. And for that to happen, we need to make sure they arrive with you in one piece! We carefully wrap each item in bubble wrap and traditional Japanese newspapers (you’ll often find a Japanese crossword or sudoku to solve!). You’ll also receive a short guide on how to care for and cherish your new tableware. Sustainability is important to us and we’re working hard on ways to keep items safe while being kind to the planet, too.
