Sake cups made from Acer japonicum, a maple Northern Japan that produces a hard, smooth, light coloured timber.

Perfect for sake, shochu or whisky, and not bad for espresso either.

There’s something comforting about drinking from a wooden cup, and even more so when you’ve met the man who makes them - the lovely, grinning, chaotic, permanently covered-in-wood-shavings-and sawdust, Sekikawa san.

Sekikawa san, 2nd generation woodworker, has been making tool handles and household items for over 25 years. He makes the handles for our pruning saws, as well as our Sake Cups and Chopping Boards.

What makes our products so special

What’s in the box?

Our products are made with love and care in Japan, but it’s with you where their story lives on. And for that to happen, we need to make sure they arrive with you in one piece! We carefully wrap each item in bubble wrap and traditional Japanese newspapers (you’ll often find a Japanese crossword or sudoku to solve!). You’ll also receive a short guide on how to care for and cherish your new tableware. Sustainability is important to us and we’re working hard on ways to keep items safe while being kind to the planet, too.
