Care Instructions
- Wipe the blade and body clean after each use to remove wood dust and resin.
- Keep the blade dry at all times to prevent rust from forming on the carbon steel.
- Apply a light coat of camellia oil or machine oil to the blade before long-term storage.
- Store in a dry location away from moisture and humidity.
- Avoid exposing the oak body to excessive moisture, direct sunlight, or extreme temperature changes.
- Regular sharpening is recommended to maintain optimum cutting performance.
- Handle the blade carefully, as it is extremely sharp.
Before First Use
- Traditional Japanese hand planes are supplied with the blade fitted but may require fine adjustment before use.
- Adjust the blade depth gradually using a small hammer until the desired shaving thickness is achieved.
- Fine tuning may be required depending on the timber species and working conditions.
Safety Warning
- Always keep hands clear of the blade edge during use and adjustment.
- Wear appropriate eye protection when woodworking.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Use only for woodworking applications.
