This Yin & Yang "Warosoku" Candle Set expresses the balance of light and shadow through black and white - a symbol of harmony and purification.
Each candle is made from haze wax blended with hemp charcoal (black) and Ōshio sea salt (white). In Shinto tradition, salt has long been used for purification, while hemp is revered as a sacred plant for protection and cleansing.
The salt used here, Ōshio, is made only from seawater drawn on the day of the full moon, when the gravitational forces of the sun, moon, and earth align to create the most powerful tides.
The set also includes Palo Santo, a sacred wood from Peru known for its sweet, rich fragrance that purifies spaces and invites positive energy. Burn the stick to enjoy its calming aroma - perfect for meditation, relaxation, or quiet reflection.
Presented in a Paulownia wood box, traditionally used in Japan for preserving cherished objects, this set embodies the Japanese spirit of balance, purity, and craftsmanship. What’s in the box?
Our products are made with love and care in Japan, but it’s with you where their story lives on. And for that to happen, we need to make sure they arrive with you in one piece! We carefully wrap each item in bubble wrap and traditional Japanese newspapers (you’ll often find a Japanese crossword or sudoku to solve!). You’ll also receive a short guide on how to care for and cherish your new tableware. Sustainability is important to us and we’re working hard on ways to keep items safe while being kind to the planet, too.
A beautiful small dish - exactly what I wanted. It’s charming and a beautiful blue. Delivery was very rapid and the dish was carefully wrapped in Japanese newspaper and bubble wrap. Very pleased!
