Mcusta Zanmai is produced by Marusho Industry, Inc. in Seki, Japan - a city renowned for blade making since the 13th century.

Long valued for its access to iron, charcoal, and clean water, Seki became one of Japan’s most important centres for forging fine edged tools. Today, traditional craftsmanship continues alongside modern precision manufacturing.

Founded in 1964, Marusho first built its reputation through the production of scissors. In 2000, the company introduced the Mcusta range of pocket knives, followed by Zanmai in 2006 - a kitchen knife collection that brings together Seki’s blade-making heritage with contemporary performance and design.
