Crafted by Asakura Kagu in Japan, this set of two paulownia wood cutting boards combines traditional craftsmanship with everyday functionality.

Paulownia wood is exceptionally lightweight, quick-drying, and naturally gentle on knife edges, making food preparation more comfortable while helping to preserve blade sharpness. Each board is carefully hand-finished for a smooth feel and features angled edges for improved grip and handling.

Designed for more than just food preparation, the boards also work beautifully as serving boards for bread, cheese, fruit, and shared dishes, bringing the warmth of natural wood from kitchen to table.

Care & Usage Instructions

  • As each board is crafted from natural wood, variations in grain, colour, and natural markings are part of its unique character.
  • Hand wash only. Not suitable for dishwasher use.
  • Before use, lightly wet the surface with water to help reduce the absorption of food odours and stains.
  • Over time, knife marks may appear on the surface. To help minimise their appearance, place a damp cloth over the area and gently apply a warm iron.
  • Natural tannins in the wood may occasionally cause darkening or discolouration. If desired, the surface can be lightly sanded to restore its appearance.
  • Dry thoroughly after washing and store in a well-ventilated area.
