The Chitose Series is a cookware collection by Wahei Freiz, crafted in Tsubame-Sanjo, Niigata - a region renowned for its long tradition of Japanese metalworking craftsmanship.
Combining stainless steel, iron, and copper with natural wood details, the collection is designed with a focus on durability, functionality, and quiet everyday beauty. Clean lines, seamless construction, and carefully considered forms reflect the thoughtful simplicity of traditional Japanese kitchen tools.
Made by skilled artisans and designed for everyday use, the Chitose Series brings together lasting quality, understated elegance, and practical comfort for modern kitchens.
Care Instructions
- Rinse lightly with water before use to help reduce food odours and staining
- Wash gently with warm water and a soft sponge after use
- Avoid prolonged soaking or leaving the board wet for extended periods
- Dry thoroughly and allow to air dry completely before storing
- Do not use in a dishwasher
- Store in a dry, well-ventilated place away from direct sunlight
Please Note
Paulownia wood is naturally lightweight, quick-drying, and gentle on knife edges. Over time, small knife marks, colour changes, and natural wood variations may develop as part of the board’s character and everyday use.
To help maintain the wood over time, occasional application of food-safe mineral oil is recommended.
As mentioned, most of our range is dishwasher and microwave safe, except a few ‘Crackle’ glazes, if you’re unsure then drop us an email info@mij.co.uk and we’ll be able to advise.
