Crafted in Tsubame-Sanjo, Niigata - Japan’s most renowned region for metalworking and cookware craftsmanship - this oval tempura frying pot reflects generations of traditional tool making shaped since the Muromachi period.

Made from durable iron, the pot offers excellent heat retention and stable cooking temperatures, helping ingredients fry evenly for crisp and consistent results.

The compact oval shape is thoughtfully designed for efficient everyday frying, offering practical cooking space while helping reduce oil usage compared to larger round pots. Its form is especially suited to longer ingredients such as tempura prawns, asparagus, croquettes, and fried fish.

Ideal for tempura, karaage, vegetables, seafood, and everyday frying, the pot combines practical functionality with the enduring reliability of traditional iron cookware.

The included thermometer helps monitor oil temperature more accurately, supporting more consistent frying results at home.

Over time, the iron surface naturally develops character through continued use, becoming a familiar and reliable part of everyday cooking.

Care Instructions

Please read the Care Instruction before first use. The English care instructions can be found on pages 3–4 of the PDF.

Please Note

  • Wash gently with warm water and dry thoroughly after each use
  • Avoid prolonged soaking, as iron may rust if left wet
  • After washing, heat lightly to remove remaining moisture before storing
  • A light coating of cooking oil after use will help maintain the surface over time
  • Do not use in a dishwasher
  • Use cooking oil suitable for deep frying and avoid overheating oil

The iron surface is finished with a silicone resin coating to help protect the cookware during storage and transport. With continued use, the surface will naturally season through cooking oils and develop improved cooking performance over time.

Slight colour changes and surface marks are part of the natural ageing process of iron cookware and are embraced as part of its character.
