The Divide Wall Clock, designed by nendo (Oki Sato), expresses time through the division of a single straight line. The name Divide (ディバイド) reflects the clock’s concept - time is represented by gradually splitting the line into segments as the day progresses.

Rather than using traditional numerals, the design communicates the hour through subtle visual change. As the line slowly divides and shifts, the passage of time can be sensed in a calm and intuitive way.

Part of a series exploring alternative ways of reading time, the clock replaces conventional numbers with a minimal visual scale. This approach transforms the simple act of telling time into a quiet moment of awareness.

Carefully crafted in Japan, the clock reflects nendo’s approach to everyday objects - reducing form to its essential idea while maintaining clarity and function. Its clean graphic presence sits naturally within modern interiors, making it both a practical timepiece and a thoughtful design object.
