The Chitose Series is a cookware collection by Wahei Freiz, crafted in Tsubame-Sanjo, Niigata - a region renowned for its long tradition of Japanese metalworking craftsmanship.
Combining stainless steel, iron, and copper with natural wood details, the collection is designed with a focus on durability, functionality, and quiet everyday beauty. Clean lines, seamless construction, and carefully considered forms reflect the thoughtful simplicity of traditional Japanese kitchen tools.
Made by skilled artisans and designed for everyday use, the Chitose Series brings together lasting quality, understated elegance, and practical comfort for modern kitchens.
For first-time use, it’s important to season the pan properly. Start by washing the pan with soapy water. Then, heat it over medium heat until all the water evaporates. Turn off the heat, add about an inch of oil, and heat over low for three minutes. Discard the oil, let the pan cool, and wipe the surface with kitchen paper.
After each use, wash the pan while it's still warm with water and a soft sponge (avoid dish soap). Dry it thoroughly, then apply a thin layer of oil using kitchen paper.
