Create your own small wooden boat that really floats with this charming DIY kit from Japan.
Perfect for craft lovers, families, or anyone who enjoys hands-on projects, this set includes everything you need to carve, assemble, and finish your very own boat.

Made from Japanese cedar (hull) and Hinoki cypress (sail), the natural wood gives off a gentle scent as you work. Simply carve the pre-shaped block using a small knife, smooth it with the included sandpaper, and assemble with the bamboo stick, string, and sail provided. You can even paint or decorate your finished boat to make it uniquely yours.

An enjoyable and relaxing project for children and adults alike - ideal for creative gifts, or peaceful weekend crafting. Float it on water or display it as a handmade keepsake.

How To Use:

Design your Boat:
Decide on your preferred Spatula shape and sketch the outline with a pencil. Carefully carve along the line using a craft knife or cutter. Take care not to injure yourself when using sharp tools.

Shape and smooth:
Once the rough shape is formed, sand the surface with No.150 sandpaper until the edges and Boat tip are smooth.

Refine the finish:
Continue sanding with No.240 and No.400 papers until the surface becomes completely smooth and even.

Our products are made with love and care in Japan, but it’s with you where their story lives on. And for that to happen, we need to make sure they arrive with you in one piece! We carefully wrap each item in bubble wrap and traditional Japanese newspapers (you’ll often find a Japanese crossword or sudoku to solve!). You’ll also receive a short guide on how to care for and cherish your new tableware. Sustainability is important to us and we’re working hard on ways to keep items safe while being kind to the planet, too.
