Maori Murota, a Tokyo native, embarked on a global journey, living in New York and Indonesia after leaving Japan at the age of seventeen. In 2003, she made Paris her home, initially pursuing a career in fashion styling. However, her passion for food led her to transition into the culinary world in 2009. Self-taught, Maori took on roles as a chef at Parisian restaurants Düo and Bento at La Conserverie. Today, she thrives as an event caterer, private chef, and instructor, sharing the art of authentic Japanese home cooking.

What makes our products so special

What’s in the box?

Our products are made with love and care in Japan, but it’s with you where their story lives on. And for that to happen, we need to make sure they arrive with you in one piece! We carefully wrap each item in bubble wrap and traditional Japanese newspapers (you’ll often find a Japanese crossword or sudoku to solve!). You’ll also receive a short guide on how to care for and cherish your new tableware. Sustainability is important to us and we’re working hard on ways to keep items safe while being kind to the planet, too.
